Louise

Mum of Twins - Production Scheduler

Before my first coaching session, I felt totally lost. I was coming back to work after more than 3 years off, I had no direction and no idea where to start.

The first thing Jo and I did was work out my main aims for working together, which were:

  • find out what I want to do whilst being realistic;

  • gain clarity on which sector I’d like to start my job search in;

  • experiment with reinventing myself, so I could get 'career passionate'.

And we’d do this by:

  • exploring my career values to understand my sense of purpose, identity and career personality.

  • understanding my strengths, transferable skills and unique selling points for increased clarity and confidence

  • evaluating job possibilities and flexible working options against my values, skills and strengths.

Basically, what I want, what I have to offer and how to get it.

Jo also helped me build my confidence and assess my updated priorities as a working mum. Because of the positive mindset she gave me, I've actually challenged the perceptions of a few recruiters, encouraged them to think more creatively and had the confidence to ask for what I wanted.

Now I have a long-term and short-term plan that I’m working towards and it feels great.

What Louise did next:

She returned to the Beverages Industry, a sector that she worked in before her career break,  in a family-friendly flexible role working 3 days a week, where she could  fulfil her current career aspirations and be her version of a happy mum. She hopes to increase to 4 days a week when the twins start school.
